DIGITAL FAMILY PICNIC

One of our favorite events is the yearly family picnic.  A chance to meet ALL the new families in the program, relax, enjoy some good food and put faces to the names you hear about all the time.

Like with most things currently, this year we will be doing a digital picnic.  You'll be emailed ZOOM link for you to join or call into.

There will be some icebreakers and activities with all the students , parents and staff.  A chance to get to know everyone better, put some faces to names, and enjoy a little brevity during this stressful time.

We will see you all Sunday 8/30.
This is for ALL families that participate in any portion of the program.

SCHOOL BOARD APPROVED ACTIVITY HEALTH PLAN

The Mt. Lebanon Board of School Directors approved the District’s Athletic and Activities Health and Safety Plan, allowing our students to return to activities.  Although we are looking forward to welcome our students back on campus, we know the larger goal is to do this as safely as possible.

The Mt. Lebanon Athletic and Activities Health and Safety Plan considers the necessary precautions and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control, Allegheny County Health Department, Governor’s Office, Pennsylvania Department of Health, Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.

At its core, the Plan has three phases which allow for a measured and safe approach to return, and each phase has a health screening requirement for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 prior to any rehearsal.

The percussion program will be strictly following all of these guidelines on top of adding our own that are customized to our rehearsal needs.

The health and safety of students, our families, and our community is the percussion program and staff's number one priority.

We will not do anything that risks that.

SCHOOL BUILDINGS CLOSED FOR SPRING 2020

Governor Wolf has closed all schools through the rest of the academic year.  While details are still being worked out with the district, myself and the staff have been planning for many "what if's" and have multiple options to put a little more certainty in our uncertain future. More information will be coming to you about all our cancelled and future plans, but for now know that we're all still here making sure the percussion program can provide opportunities for everyone. We will keep playing.

I miss you.  The staff misses making music with you. I'm sorry our school year and time physically together has been cut short. We're all going to be dealing with this in our way and time, but we still have each other.

I am here if you need ANYTHING, music or otherwise. WE are all here.

Reach out.
Talk if you need to. Cry if you need to.
Feel your feelings, they are valid.
Create, write, play, draw, move, mediate, share, rest.

Reach out.

I will see you all soon.
-Mr. DeLuca
